CBD: Details? Details only distract from the vibe!

Our perspicacious political insider writes exclusively:

The decisive victory by BS in the Leaders Debate has restored CBD’s faith in the Australian people and above all the commentariat.

It was never going to be easy. The debate was always going to be tough for BS with pesky questions dominating about costs, sources of funding, and implementation – all just mere detail.

Increasing Child Care workers’ wages by 20 per cent, and restoring penalty rates all being unfairly portrayed as a vote of no confidence in Labor’s own Fair Work Act and Fair Work Commission. And that’s before they get on to questions about the cost of reducing CO2 emissions or the time taken to recharge an electric car. Again mere detail cunningly raised to detract attention from the GULAG vision splendid.

CBD has been a long-standing adherent to the approach that detail can work itself out. What counts in people’s lives is the journey they’re being taken on, the vision splendid or the vibe so ably inserted into our way of thinking by Dennis Denuto of The Castle fame. The vibe clearly won the debate for BS and overwhelmingly so.

Poor old SM on the other hand – stuck with the old fashioned quoting of figures, things being costed, actually understanding his own policies – all so pedestrian he was bound to lose to BS.

The exciting thing about the panel’s judgment/vote was that they clearly adopted the Dennis Denuto approach. When you lack knowledge, details, and understanding claim the superior role and proclaim the all-important vibe. No one can argue with it. BS won!

Not only did the audience so judge but the commentariat said BS  “connected “, “presented a vision” and so on – all of which trumped substance in which SM excels.  CBD has been a long time believer in style over substance or the vibe over the detail.

Detail and facts can get people thinking which has all the associated dangers attached.

CBD has every confidence the momentum is swinging back to Team GULAG (GetUp!, Labor and Greens). And with pre polling underway GULAG has to make every post a winner.

CBD will be contributing regularly throughout the campaign.
