Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow. Or about how you can hold on to your job, anyway, if you happened to be named Anthony Albanese.

When some of Labor’s talking points from yesterday morning found their way to the SpecOz late in the day, there was a familiar ring to them:

Two pars stood out in particular:

In a remarkable coincidence, Bill Clinton gave a speech just ahead of the renomination of Barack Obama at the 2012 Democratic National Congress with the title “We’re In This Together” vs. “You’re On Your Own”

In it, Monica’s mentor declared “We think ‘we’re all in this together’ is a better philosophy than ‘you’re on your own’.”

For emphasis, he later revisited the theme: “Like I said, we’re all in this together.”

Don’t believe us? You can read the speech here or even watch it if you like.

Poor old Albo. A good bloke, but not the best leader. Sp-rung!

At least this time he borrowed from a real president. Remember when he came out with lines from the Michael Douglas rom-com The American President back at the National Press Club in 2012?
