This morning, Cockburn’s eagle eye was drawn to an exclusive in the Washington Examiner, which reports that the Delaware police considered Hunter Biden a victim in the infamous gun-in-the-trash incident from 2018. That episode involved Hunter’s sister-in-law Hallie, with whom he had a romantic relationship after his brother Beau died, throwing out a gun in a public trash can near a grocery store. Hunter then asked Hallie to go retrieve the gun.
A source in the Delaware Police Department said, “He was technically a victim of a theft of a firearm. But in Delaware, we don’t prosecute unless a victim is willing to pursue prosecution, so that incident was cleared out with no victim cooperation…which means the victim does not want prosecution.”
Instead Hallie was labeled as the perpetrator in this scenario.
The Examiner dug up Hunter and Hallie’s texts from Hunter’s laptop. Hallie texted him about how keeping the gun “was not safe,” and how she was afraid he would use it, potentially on himself.
In his replies to Hallie, Hunter claimed, “They think you’re scared I would shoot you” and “You now have me as an abusive pedophile with homicidal tendencies. And that’s now in the hands of the FBI.” Cockburn notes that these texts are laced with profanity, which the Examiner blacked out.
Of course, one can’t forget that Hunter lied when purchasing this firearm in the first place. He falsely answered no on the “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?” question.
Yet despite him breaking the law and an investigation being opened, nobody bothered to prosecute him.
Opposing the FBI’s stagnant investigation into the matter, the Secret Service allegedly covered for Hunter Biden. They also allegedly tried to get the paperwork of the sale from the gun shop Biden bought it from to cover his tracks. If that isn’t favoritism, Cockburn doesn’t know what is. Kudos to WEX for unearthing all this.
