Pilfering politicians

Sir: On first reading the article ‘Put the expenses “scandal” in perspective’ (2 November) I was in sleeping-dog-disturbing snorts of laughter, believing it to be a very tongue-in-cheek mockery of Young Liberal thinking. And then the awful truth dawned on me — it really is an example of Young Liberal thinking and, more concerningly, an example of what our (small ‘l’) liberal universities are producing.
