With the state of next week’s 2015-16 budget (and prospects of years of continuing deficits) heavily dependent on what the Treasury guesses will happen to the price of Australia’s biggest single export, iron ore, its sudden 22 per cent recovery to almost $US58 a tonne may have eased some of Joe Hockey’s pre-budget tension.
