Been spinning and making since 1983 – what is now called EDM is just any music that you can dance to – and frankly much of what passes for dance music now days is anything but danceable, unless if by dancing you mean fist pumping and staring at over-paid, talentless laptop tweekers. Maybe my affection for vinyl clouds my vision, but todays DJ shows are a big overpriced yawn. Some of the best and most listenable DJs are women, btw. They seem to be carrying the torch for the more respected and long-lived styles like house, techno, and soul. If EDM is about to die (and it’s not), it’s a suicide, brought on by overexposure to douchebags and brostep.
