Ever since The Guardian set up shop locally Australians have been treated to the excitement of a media outlet that behaves like the mumbling meth-heads who approach you on the street asking for small change. True, it’s a little less embarrassing than that Prue and Trude boutique for Mosman mums of little imagination but large pretensions, The Store by Fairfax, but it’s not what we’re used to from our media.

But the folks at the Guardian really got carried away today. In less than two hours the following message appeared no less than 23 times on its live blog of parliament.

We know the Guardian believes in charity. It’s why, apparently, they sat on the Oxfam sex scandals story when it was taken to them by their fellow lefties in case it upset its loyal customers the charity and NGO lobby.

But being bothered by beggars 23 times in two hours? It’s as bad as walking from Central Station to Circular Quay.
