It is unclear, at time of writing, whether an application to stage America’s inaugural Straight Pride Parade on the streets of Boston will or will not be approved by City Hall. But the organisers must have been encouraged by the Mayor of Boston’s assertion that the city ‘cannot deny a permit for a public event because of an organisation’s values’.
