Back in 44 B.C Julius Caesar declared himself dictator perpetuo, dictator for life. On Monday, Victorian Premier Dan Andrews did much the same thing. He is actually seeking even more draconian powers to bypass the parliamentary process and constitutional freedoms, all to ‘keep us safe’ from a virus with a 99% recovery rate. 

There is nothing unexpected about this.
