How do we fix 'stupid'?

It took centuries of history – wars fought, won, and lost – to bring together the world’s greatest philosophers and thinkers. Without a single mention of the internet or social media, we were universally schooled in Plato, Socrates, and Freud while fully accepting ‘diversity of thinking’ in relation to the world around us.

And then, in less than the blink of an eye, we accepted the stupidity of destroying not only history, but physical edifices to everything that held common ground. We actually watched as passionate idiots around the world destroyed statues to ideas and people that held enough meaning to be memorialised.

How did we allow the ‘stupid’ to become our arbitrators of sanity and reason – even for a short while…?

Was there some sort of decision made that this was the right thing to do? Did we accept that everyone should jump onto this ‘destroy our history and heritage’ bandwagon that was physically emblazoned onto our screens every night?

Seriously, did we really acquiesce or were we too afraid to object?

How is it possible that society allowed ‘stupid’ to walk right in and welcome the rubble? Was it all part of that ‘it’s all okay to burn down cities and loot and riot’? Did it all become entangled in Black Rage, and this will now determine our future and be the most valuable part of our past?

I have to come back to this ‘stupid’ thing, because while this was all happening and calls of systemic racism were flying higher than the burning remains of the cities, America voted in a black President. Twice. How does that happen in a country defined as systemically racist? How does a country with black judges, black doctors, black lawyers, as well as black policemen in every single city – get defined as systemically racist? Please explain this to me.

And ‘stupid’ is still not finished.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the absolute bastion of inclusion, just built itself a shrine to inclusiveness.

Those involved collected a fortune in funding and patted themselves on their collective woke backs. On opening night, the ‘Glitterati’ were walking around wondering, ‘Where are the Jews?’ Everyone on the planet knows the movie industry was built by Jewish immigrants who had escaped the Holocaust. They formed the backbone of early-era movies, but these oh-so-stupid woke people didn’t even consider including them in their new museum.

To this new generation, old white people are of no importance or consequence so this whole tribute and display for future generations did not require the realism of history. When you can pull down and destroy what you don’t like or respect so easily, why even include it?

I come back to my question, is it possible to get rid of ‘stupid’ once you have embraced it into your reality?

The even greater tragedy has been further illustrated by someone who should know so much better. Whoopi Goldberg has allowed ‘stupid’ to dictate her New World Order belief system to the point that she requires racism to exclusively include black issues.

Whoopi has stated that if you have two white groups – even in the situation of the Holocaust – the attempted annihilation of an entire race of people is not ‘racist’ because neither the Nazis nor Jews were black. It’s just people doing bad things to each other…

This, my friends, is how ‘stupid’ was allowed into our society and then flourished, because everyone’s thoughts and more importantly feelings are important and should be held equally important.

The issues of Covid will come and go, but is it ever possible to get rid of ‘stupid’?
