The recent Chinese economic update contains mixed messages for Australia. According to Premier Li Qiang who delivered the country’s annual Work Report two weeks ago, China has a projected growth target of about 5 per cent – the same figure as the past year. Whether this figure can be believed is questionable given its vagueness and the opacity of China’s data.
