Much of a recent New South Wales Public Service Commission post to staff dwells on a 2023 People Matter Employee Survey which recorded 10,458 employees across the public sector who say they experienced racism at work. At face value, even though it represents just 2.3 per cent of the public sector workforce, it seems a lot and begs the question, how many of those who claim to have experienced racism at work misconstrued the words and actions of those who had no racist intent?
