Dysfunctional, insulting, thuddingly tedious – rarely have our national politics been as bland, stage-managed, or inconsequential as they are today. Voters have stopped listening. They have tuned out.

This is not to say strong, resolute leadership is no longer needed – it is merely to acknowledge that it is glaringly absent in the Australia of today.
