What’s the country most similar to Australia in terms of our constitutional history, size, people, legal system, punching weight in the world, standard of living and so on? I figure it’s got to be my native Canada. Sure, as anyone soon discovers when he or she goes to the Great White North, the median Canadian voter is noticeably to the political left of the median voter here in Australia.
