We all have close friends with whom we occasionally disagree, amicably. And we have friends whom we inadvertently offend from time to time. Offend them once and you can apologise. Offend them twice and you can apologise twice. Offend them three times and it starts to look careless. Offend them four, five or six times, especially if it is in a short period of time, and the friendship starts to sour.
